Founded in 2017, GAC Aion is the wholly-owned new energy vehicle subsidiary of GAC Group. On December 14, 2023, GAC Aion's smart ecological factory was selected for the World Economic Forum (WEF) "Global Lighthouse Network," becoming the only new energy vehicle "lighthouse factory" in the world.

Aion employs a new generation of high-performance integrated electric drive technology — the Quark electric drive. Its independently developed ultra-high-speed motor accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds, the fastest in the world. The Aion factory is equipped with 40+ industry 4.0 benchmarks, offering customers 100,000 personalized selection options. With 25 color-customized flexible production lines, it ensures on-time delivery of complete vehicles. Fully automated production lines support mixed production of customized and stock products, rolling out a customized new car every 53 seconds.

GAC Aion has achieved notable success in smart manufacturing. The company has built a domestically leading pure electric exclusive factory and equipped it with highly automated production lines. From welding, stamping, painting, to final assembly, the Aion factory has essentially achieved automation, greatly improving production efficiency and quality consistency. GAC Aion also employs advanced quality control technology, combining machine vision and AI to perform full-process non-destructive inspection of auto parts, achieving nanometer-level precision control.
